In 1946, André Ponthier and his wife founded their business of fresh fruit merchants. They invest in lands and planted many fruit trees that owned up to 80 hectares of lands.
In 1980 André Ponthier, a man of the land, focused on a local delicacy, the chestnuts. He invents a new cooking and preservation process by creating the first range of vacuum-cooked chestnuts. These chestnuts are now recognized as the quality reference desired by the greatest chefs around the world. In the early 90s, the first frozen fruit purées were born & very quickly recognized for their quality. They received “Bol d’Or Interglace” and the “Maison de la Qualité” prize awarded by the professional union of pastry chefs in Tokyo.
In the late 90s, the first range of refrigerated fruit purees were born! A real alternative to frozen fruit purees that offers great convenience while preserving the color and flavour of the fruit. After, in the early 2000s, Ponthier company moves to a new factory with double the storage capacity, state-of-the-art high tech laboratories, and still in the heart of Corrézienne nature.
In 2012, new visual identity was born in line with the quality of the products when Thibault Ponthier joins the family business and redefined the sales and marketing policy of Maison Ponthier.
